Iris — Privacy Policy

Effective date: Effective upon the App's public launch.

Iris ("Iris," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Stellium Labs, LLC, provides an astrology app for understanding romantic compatibility ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and an authentication identifier from your sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or email/password via Firebase Authentication).

Birth and profile details. To calculate your chart and readings, we collect your date of birth, time of birth (optional), and place of birth (which we convert to coordinates and a time zone). You may also provide your gender and the gender(s) you are drawn to, and an optional profile photo.

People you add ("connections"). When you add a partner, crush, friend, or other person to analyze a relationship, we collect the birth details and optional photo you enter for them. You are responsible for having any needed permission to enter another person's information.

Relationship and content data. We store the relationships you create, compatibility scores and analyses generated for them, and the questions and chat history from "Ask Iris."

Purchases and subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple. We and our billing provider (RevenueCat) receive transaction and entitlement information (e.g., which product you bought, subscription status) to grant credits and access. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Usage and device information. We collect limited technical and usage data needed to operate and improve the App, such as app interactions, crash and diagnostic data, and device/OS information.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Calculate your birth chart and generate readings, compatibility scores, and forecasts;
  • Provide "Ask Iris" answers grounded in your chart;
  • Create and maintain your account and saved relationships;
  • Process purchases, grant credits, and manage subscriptions and fair-use limits;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug problems;
  • Improve the App's features and content;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your birth details or relationship content to serve third-party advertising.

3. How your information is shared

We share information only with service providers ("subprocessors") that help us run the App, and only as needed to provide it:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required).

AI processing

To generate readings, compatibility analyses, and Ask Iris answers, relevant chart data and your questions are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) for processing. We send only what is needed to produce the result. Our AI providers act as our processors and are contractually restricted from using your data to train their models other than as permitted to provide the service.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a commercially reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations (for example, purchase records).

5. Your choices and rights

  • Account deletion. You can delete your account and associated personal data from within the App (Profile → Privacy → Delete account). This is irreversible.
  • Subscriptions. Manage or cancel auto-renewing subscriptions in your Apple ID / App Store account settings.
  • Regional rights. Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@irislove.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

Iris is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International data transfers

We operate the App from, and store data in, the United States and may process information in other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Effective date" above. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means.
